As I strive to make Channelling Dolly something to make you all smile more things are coming to light! There will be some exciting additions to the blog and to Channelling Dolly the Etsy shop. As the end of the first year of this labor of love draws closer and a new year of Channelling Dolly begins next month I can’t wait to share more with all of you!
While I obviously love Dolly, I am very passionate about interior design as well. While earning a degree in design it was so important to see how the things that we fill our home with can help to change our moods. To this point, bold colors, whimsical prints and eclectic patterns draw my eye and lift my spirits. For this reason, you will begin to see much of this in Channelling Dolly the Etsy shop.
While there are many more designs in the works. First up in the home decor arena is the glitter dinosaur wreath! Sure dinosaurs are perfect on their own. However, when they are all decked out like a disco ball…simply amazing! Now I am sure that while disco dinosaurs appeal to many, they may not be your particular cup of tea. So, in that case, make sure to check back often. New designs will be coming on a regular basis!

Here are five apartment amenities we know Dolly would want her new apartment home to have.

With help from some super crafty friends, I learned how to make the mesh garland.
For the Jack faces, I bought small round wooden cutouts at Michaels craft store. First I started off painting them white. Once they were dry used a paint pen Sharpie to draw on their faces. For the larger Jack on my wreath, I used craft paint, but I really liked the results with the Sharpie even better. Once they were dry I hot glued pipe cleaner on the back of each one so they would be easy to attach later on in the process. What’s not to love about Halloween? Dress up, pumpkins, spooky stories, candy! Did I say free candy? I am so excited that the Halloween season is here that I spent my entire Saturday preparing my home!
After staring at a boring concrete slab and picnic table that had seen better days, my husband and I decided that our backyard space needed an overhaul. Unfortunately I didn’t take any before pictures. It was simply too tragic to be photographed. I am so happy with the end result though:
The benches were handmade, but they could also be store-bought and painted. The rug incorporated all of the bold colors and tied them together. Two 2X2 posts were cemented in and string lights, found at Target, were hung from the house to the posts. The red side tables were plant stands found at Home Depot.
