Now that is a question which has certainly been uttered by fans of the Queen of Country Music! Would Dolly add more sparkles? Would Dolly have some funny story to say about this or that? Just what would she do?
Well, thanks to the artwork of Uncle Gertrude’s Etsy shop that question can now be a part of your home!
Printed on 12 x 18 kraft paper in the letterpress style this piece has a great retro feel. For more information please check out Uncle Gertrude’s Etsy shop!
Recently while visiting San Francisco I put it on my vacation itinerary to check out Muir Woods. As a bona-fide city girl with a phobia of lizards I was a little unsure about being in the out-of-doors, but my desire to see the Redwood trees told me to suck it up buttercup and make the trip! I am so grateful that I did!
Located just 11 miles north of the Golden Gate Bridge makes Muir Woods perfect for someone wishing to see nature and still have all the comforts of a major city nearby. Honestly though after the first five minutes there even this city girl was contemplating hiking more often.
In 1908 this grouping of redwoods, some between 400-800 years old, was established as the Muir Woods National Monument. It is open to the public every day of the year and is free for children 15 and under. As I am writing this the current price for 16 and over is $10, but please check their site for possible price changes.

Amongst celebrities I think it would be a fair assessment to say that Dolly Parton is one of the sweetest. Her love for everyone and humble spirit shows that she is a class act and her beautiful, angelic voice reaches your soul. According to The Eternal Flame on Etsy these qualities even deem her something much bigger than a celebrity…..a saint! Who can argue that? I know I can’t!
To commemorate her sainthood, this Etsy shop has crafted a candle in Dolly’s honor. The 8″ unscented candles are handmade. They can be purchased in a variety of colors. For more information check out The Eternal Flame.
I would be hard-pressed to think of a city that I adore more than Austin, Texas. Being from Houston it is easily accessible for short weekend trips, which I take there as often as possible. If you have never visited allow me to introduce you to the capital of Texas and you will see what the adoration is all about:
The grounds of the Texas State Capitol are beautiful, but make sure to take a trip inside as the views there are equally stunning.
The music scene is huge in Austin on any given night. However, for a true music lover’s trip be sure to visit during the annual Austin City Limits Music Festival. The festival is two consecutive weekends every year as summer turns into fall and features acts from all genres.

After staring at a boring concrete slab and picnic table that had seen better days, my husband and I decided that our backyard space needed an overhaul. Unfortunately I didn’t take any before pictures. It was simply too tragic to be photographed. I am so happy with the end result though:
The benches were handmade, but they could also be store-bought and painted. The rug incorporated all of the bold colors and tied them together. Two 2X2 posts were cemented in and string lights, found at Target, were hung from the house to the posts. The red side tables were plant stands found at Home Depot.

When Dolly sang about pouring herself a cup of ambition she was working 9 to 5. Many of us now are drudging through ten to twelve hour workdays. I am sure we can all agree that a cup of ambition is needed more now than ever before!

Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think the opportunity would present itself for me to visit Alaska. When it did, however, I set out to see as many sea creatures as possible during my stay. After researching the area Seward, Alaska emerged as a great jumping off point to make my dreams a reality.
As you can see on my first day there I was already hobnobbing with an Orca:
