Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think the opportunity would present itself for me to visit Alaska. When it did, however, I set out to see as many sea creatures as possible during my stay. After researching the area Seward, Alaska emerged as a great jumping off point to make my dreams a reality.
As you can see on my first day there I was already hobnobbing with an Orca:

And if you want to celebrate the remainder of it in style try Sunny Life’s super fun radio. I purchased this last year and I adore its’ retro style. Either tune in to local radio or open it up and plug in your iPod to use it as a speaker. The sound quality is quite nice for the size. Just be aware that it is not waterproof.
To add one of these cuties to your own beach bag you can check them out here: Sunny Life.
Who wouldn’t pray for a rainy forecast if they had a Dolly Parton umbrella? I repeat a Dolly Parton umbrella! You will be smiling despite the weather while holding this super cute creation over your head.
I spotted this on Etsy, land of things we never knew existed, but once we see them we don’t know how we have lived without. If you would like to add a little sunshine to an otherwise dreary day check it out at Kayci Wheatley’s Etsy shop!
I will always love to travel. When I do there is no city that makes me more excited to visit than New York. The people, the pace, the excitement. It all gives me life. With so much to love it is hard to narrow down my favorite views, but here goes:
St. Patrick’s Cathedral
Located on 5th avenue directly across from Rockefeller Center, this Roman Catholic church is nothing short of breathtaking. Pictures truly do it no justice. Let’s be honest, even supermodels do not wake up looking like their high-profile selves. As Dolly herself has told us, it takes a lot of money to look this cheap. Welcome to the debut post of Channelling Dolly! I thought it only appropriate to begin with a time that I myself channelled Dolly Parton for Halloween.
What led me to create a blog based around Dolly you may ask? The answer is pretty simple. I can not remember a time in my life that I haven’t loved her. As a child I would watch her on television and carry my Dolly doll around with me everywhere I went. As a southern girl myself I adored her sweet personality, love of makeup and glittery costumes.
Channelling Dolly will have posts inspired by my role model as well as travel tips, crafts, beauty product reviews and more for your viewing pleasure. Be sure to check back often!
