I would be hard-pressed to think of a city that I adore more than Austin, Texas. Being from Houston it is easily accessible for short weekend trips, which I take there as often as possible. If you have never visited allow me to introduce you to the capital of Texas and you will see what the adoration is all about:
The grounds of the Texas State Capitol are beautiful, but make sure to take a trip inside as the views there are equally stunning.
The music scene is huge in Austin on any given night. However, for a true music lover’s trip be sure to visit during the annual Austin City Limits Music Festival. The festival is two consecutive weekends every year as summer turns into fall and features acts from all genres.

After staring at a boring concrete slab and picnic table that had seen better days, my husband and I decided that our backyard space needed an overhaul. Unfortunately I didn’t take any before pictures. It was simply too tragic to be photographed. I am so happy with the end result though:
The benches were handmade, but they could also be store-bought and painted. The rug incorporated all of the bold colors and tied them together. Two 2X2 posts were cemented in and string lights, found at Target, were hung from the house to the posts. The red side tables were plant stands found at Home Depot.

When Dolly sang about pouring herself a cup of ambition she was working 9 to 5. Many of us now are drudging through ten to twelve hour workdays. I am sure we can all agree that a cup of ambition is needed more now than ever before!

Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think the opportunity would present itself for me to visit Alaska. When it did, however, I set out to see as many sea creatures as possible during my stay. And if you want to celebrate the remainder of it in style try Sunny Life’s super fun radio. I purchased this last year and I adore its’ retro style. Either tune in to local radio or open it up and plug in your iPod to use it as a speaker. The sound quality is quite nice for the size. Just be aware that it is not waterproof.
To add one of these cuties to your own beach bag you can check them out here: Sunny Life.
Who wouldn’t pray for a rainy forecast if they had a Dolly Parton umbrella? I repeat a Dolly Parton umbrella! You will be smiling despite the weather while holding this super cute creation over your head.
I spotted this on Etsy, land of things we never knew existed, but once we see them we don’t know how we have lived without. If you would like to add a little sunshine to an otherwise dreary day check it out at Kayci Wheatley’s Etsy shop!
I will always love to travel. When I do there is no city that makes me more excited to visit than New York. The people, the pace, the excitement. It all gives me life. With so much to love it is hard to narrow down my favorite views, but here goes:
St. Patrick’s Cathedral
Located on 5th avenue directly across from Rockefeller Center, this Roman Catholic church is nothing short of breathtaking. Pictures truly do it no justice. If you are going to visit may I suggest dropping in early and then again after dark if possible. The difference in lighting really gives the church a unique glow as the day turns to night.
