Happy Halloween! I hope you all have your costumes ready to go! Around here I have been celebrating all weekend.
Saturday I attended a costume party and had a great time! It is always fun to see what creative costume ideas my friends come up with every year!
Friday night was spent at Ashton Villa in Galveston, Texas. This house which dates back to the 1800’s is usually only partially open for special event rentals. During Halloween, the historical foundation also opens up the second floor for a tour which focuses on the hauntings in the house. In one of the bedrooms, I began to feel a very heavy feeling in the room, only to be told that one of the daughter’s of the original owner had died there. Eek!!
Afterward we drove around Galveston to some of the other spooky locations. If you are into that type of thing the island is perfect! Below is the Menard Home. There was a seance being held there over the weekend as well, but that would be beyond what my nerves could handle!
Finally, we stopped by to photograph the Bishop’s Palace. While we did not do the Halloween-themed tour here over the weekend, I have visited this home several times. Inside the Palace is gorgeous with beautiful stained glass windows set against dark wood paneling.
How are you spending your Halloween?
Love the Alice in Wonderland costume!
Thank you!!!!
