If only I could wake up in this:

What looks to be part Smurfette, part gnome home, is 100% adorable!
What’s your personal idea of a perfect home?

Choosing a Halloween costume each year is not something that I take lightly. It requires much thought to capture the essence of the character you wish to portray. A few years ago my subject was the one and only Dolly Parton. I must say this was my favorite costume ever! Should you chose to be Dolly for Halloween, allow me to fill you in on the must have’s to pull off your look. Continue reading How to Channel Dolly Parton This Halloween
While looking through Etsy shops to find one for this week’s Yes Please! feature, this one immediately caught my eye! Not only does this piece match Channelling Dolly’s logo, but you can also accessorize with Dolly!
This lovely Dolly inspired necklace is brought to us by Sofie Johnson of Cat Fight Back via Etsy. The reason behind this creation according to Sofie is that Dolly is an awesome (music) feminist icon!
The Dolly Parton Cabochon Necklace is available to ship worldwide from Sweden. The bronze chain and pendant are handmade. Custom orders are also welcome!

In the spirit of Halloween I love a good ghost story…or several. Hollywood is a place in which there is never a shortage of ghostly tales. You can spend hours just visiting the infamous and haunted sites. In fact, that is what I do each time I make a visit there. I originally wrote a post on Haunted Hollywood where you can read about many of the famous spooky landmarks, but I wanted to do an update so as to add some new info.
The Los Feliz Murder Mansion

Seeing what could be a gorgeous Spanish revival style home falling into disrepair is odd in the Los Feliz area, where you are more likely to see a random starlet’s multimillion dollar mansion. But with what is known as the Los Feliz Murder Mansion odd isn’t the half of it.

Hollywood is the land where dreams are made and stars are born. That is what they always say, right? Unfortunately, it is also the land of those who didn’t reach the stars. The land of drug overdoses, murders, and unsolved mysteries. Some of the people who did make it, though, seem to love it so much that they choose to stick around. Here are some of their stories.
It is so easy to hide behind a computer screen. You may read someone’s post, but do you REALLY know anything about them? I thought it would be fun to share a few random things about me that you may not know! Continue reading Ten Things You Don’t Know About Me
When I started Channelling Dolly I wanted to do a weekly post featuring talented artists with Dolly inspired artwork. It is so much fun scouring the internet for things I think you all will enjoy. This week you have got to see the creation from Quyen Dinh from Los Angeles, California.
Quyen has a shop on Etsy called Parlor Tattoo Prints. This piece below is her Dolly Parton Tattoo Flash Art Print. I am loving her retro feel!

Dolly is printed on 11″x 14″ Epson Ultra Premium Presentation Paper MATTE. It is heavyweight and non-glare cardstock. Parlor Tattoo Prints also offers worldwide shipping!
