New Orleans French Quarter’s Christmas Style
New Orleans, Louisiana has a style all its’ own. Walking through the streets of the city’s famed French Quarter can immediately transport one back to the 1800’s which many of the buildings date back to. While the city is synonymous with Mardi Gras it should not be overlooked as a wonderful destination to celebrate the Christmas season. Allow me to take you on a photographic journey to show you why everyone should celebrate New Orleans French Quarter’s Christmas style.
The French Quarter is the oldest neighborhood in the city. A place where residents have come to worship since the 1700’s is St. Louis Cathedral in Jackson Square. This cathedral is stunning on any given day, but during the holidays it has an added sparkle. Lights twinkle in the square. Red bows make your family photos more festive and on certain nights there is even caroling by candlelight.
The best way to see all of the holiday decorations the French Quarter has to offer is to take to the streets. Walking the neighborhood is a great way to burn off those holiday treats and check out all of the lights.

Everything’s Gonna Be Alright
This week our Yes Please! item combines so many things that I love! So there was no way that I could not pass this along to Channelling Dolly readers! Behold the Dolly Mermaid Glitter Box! It is Dolly, as a mermaid, surrounded by glitter!!! Not only that, but she is assuring us that “Everything’s Gonna Be Alright”. And in these current times everyone needs a little assurrance in their lives!

I would like to send a special thank you to Zteven from Etsy. You may remember him as the artist behind The Dolly Parton Duo Pop Art Soup. He remembered us here at Channelling Dolly when he finished up his mermaid art and graciously accepted the offer to share her with you all as well.
The Dolly Mermaid Glitter Box is an 8X8 work of framed art. “Everything is Gonna Be Alright” is derived from the 1977 song “Light of a Clear Blue Morning”. This handmade art consists of a Dolly illustration printed on gloss stock. Dolly is then cut out and collaged with real glitter backgrounds. The finshed piece of sparkly wonder is only available to ship within the United States.
Since I know you will want this piece in your home check out this and all of Zteven’s art at Zteven on Etsy!

Shop the Novogratz
Cortney and Robert Novogratz, partners in life and partners in design, have been making a name for themselves in the creative world for over twenty years. They have designed homes in Manhattan, hotels and residences across the world and recently even a castle in Los Angeles.
You may recognize them from their time on Bravo or HGTV. There they paired unexpected colors and textures to create a signature look that you couldn’t take your eyes off of. Unfortunately, we can’t all be so lucky as to have a home designed by the Novogratz. However, their products are now available in stores such as Walmart, CB2 and Bed, Bath and Beyond. They also have Shop the Novogratz.com available on their company website. You can read about their projects, check out press that they are featured in and then buy yourself something designed by the Novogratz! It is literally a one stop shop!

One of the items available on ShopTheNovogratz.com is the Family wall art. The print is 18″ x 24″ and the paper is high quality. The colors are bright and pop off the page in classic Novogratz style. I also adore how the letters look like the NYC Subway signs, reminding me of my favorite city. It makes a super fun addition to the entryway in my home. Continue reading Shop the Novogratz
